Analytical and Numerical Reliability Analysis of Certain Pratt Steel Truss

The main aim of this paper was to propose a new reliability index for steel structure assessment and check it using the example popular Pratt truss girder. Structural analysis completed in finite element method system Autodesk ROBOT, probabilistic implemented computer algebra software MAPLE. stochastic (SFEM) contrasted here with Monte Carlo simulation girder span selected as input structural uncertainty source. Both methods were based on same polynomial response functions determined extreme deformation, stresses also joint exhibiting largest effort. These polynomials statistically optimized during additional least squares experiments. first four basic characteristics responses, first-order (FORM) index, proposition computed presented. This formula follows relative entropy model proposed by Bhattacharyya. results presented show very strong coincidence both numerical techniques confirms applicability coefficient variation not larger than 0.15. studies should be continued other engineering systems’ and, particularly, large-scale multiscale simulations. may serve different applied sciences, from biology through econometrics, experimental physics course, various branches engineering.
